How to Vet a New Aesthetics Supplier: 7 Questions to Ask

Switching or adding a supplier? These seven questions separate licensed, traceable supply from the grey market - before your money or reputation is on the line.

Every clinic eventually shops for a new supplier - better pricing, better availability, faster delivery. But the aesthetics supply market has a wide quality range, and the cost of choosing badly is not just money. Here are the seven questions worth asking before your first order.

  1. Where does your stock come from? A legitimate supplier can answer plainly: licensed channels, traceable to origin. Vague answers such as "trusted partners overseas" or "surplus stock" are the sound of the grey market.

  2. Can you provide batch documentation? Batch numbers and expiry data should be available on request for anything you buy. If a supplier cannot produce them, they cannot prove what they are selling.

  3. How do you ship temperature-sensitive products? Toxins and many injectables are cold-chain products. Ask specifically about insulated packaging, temperature control and transit time. "We post it" is not an answer.

  4. Do you verify your customers? This one is counterintuitive but telling. Prescription-only products are meant to flow through controlled channels. A supplier who checks your credentials is operating properly; one who will sell to anyone with a card is not - and that tells you how careful they are about everything else.

  5. What happens if something arrives damaged or wrong? Get the returns and damage policy before you order, not after. Reputable suppliers put it in writing.

  6. Is the price plausible? Prices for major brands sit in a fairly narrow band. A dramatic outlier usually means counterfeit, diverted stock or short-dated product.

  7. Can I talk to a person? When a shipment is late or a batch needs querying, you want a human who knows your account - not a ticket queue.

None of these questions are rude. A good supplier answers them easily, because the answers are the product. At Meds-Go, verification, traceability and cold-chain handling are not add-ons - they are the baseline we built the service on.
