Description
Osteoarthritis is characterized by pain and stiffness in the joints that worsen with age. These symptoms are attributed to a loss of synovial fluid in the joint. Hyalgan has similar rheological properties to synovial fluid. As such, its injection into arthritic joints provides lubrication and shock absorption. After treatment, patients should experience increased mobility and decreased pain.
